Le nomination per la 61esima edizione dei Grammy Awards sono arrivate e Hip Hop guida innegabilmente la carica. Questa volta, il numero di candidati nei quattro campi generali è passato da cinque a otto nel tentativo di avere una maggiore diversità.
Grazie al suo lavoro su Pantera nera colonna sonora, Kendrick Lamar ha collezionato otto nomination in categorie come Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year e Best Rap Performance.
Drake è subito dietro di lui con sette nomination, tra cui Album of the Year per il suo ultimo album Scorpione. Nel frattempo, Cardi B continua la sua monumentale ascesa alla fama con cinque nomination per Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album e Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.
